Regular Tour Information

Tours are 90 minutes and cover the history and restoration of this historic campus. We will cover a variety of topics related to the post-Civil War era in Milwaukee.

Please note: this is a walking tour that will cover about a mile of the campus. There is some sloped pavement, but it is otherwise safe for attendees who are handicapped.

Please arrive 15 minutes early. All tours take place at 515 S General Mitchell Blvd.

  • Park in lot E30 and E31 by the cemetery. You will then walk up Gen Wolcott Ave towards Old Main (the tall structure) to will meet your tour guide at the fountain in front of Old Main.

  • The tour is 90 minutes long and will cover a variety of information including the history, architecture, and preservation stories of these historic buildings. 

  • Restrooms are not available until the end of the tour. 

  • Items to bring with you:

    • Water

    • Walking Shoes

    • Attached parking map

    • Sun Protection as shade is not always available 

    • Cash for Soldiers Home souvenirs!
